Esoterica was born out of one family's love for all things natural history. Sofia and Fletcher spent years traveling the world, collecting beautiful objects and natural curiosities. When they settled down in the quaint town of New Hope, PA, they decided to open up a shop to share their passion with others and build a local community of other natural history enthusiasts. They opened Esoterica in the summer of 2024.
Inspired by the aesthetic of the traditional cabinets de curiosités that were popular in Europe from the Renaissance to the Victorian era, Esoterica carries a wide range of natural curios, including fossils, meteorites, ethically sourced entomological specimens, and taxidermy. We have a particular interest in the intersection between nature and art, such as unique hand-carved skulls, jewelry made from meteorites, or butterfly taxidermy elevated into visual art. We also hold classes and workshops on natural history subjects and other related topics. Our items are sourced from a world-wide network of artists, collectors, and field paleontologists.
