This pin is crafted from an actual beetle (Sternocera Aequisignata) from the forests of Northern Thailand. The beetles die after reproducing, and are then fashioned into pins. Considered good luck, they are traditionally worn by Thai hilltribes. The outer wings of the beetles are lightweight and surprisingly durable, making this a practical fashion accessory.
