This is the underside of an enormous morpho butterfly, set in a unique antique-style gold-and-black oval frame. Morpho butterflies have eye patterns on the underside of their wings, to trick predators into believing they're going up against a much larger creature! The eye pattern is particularly stunning on this species, with flashes of blue and purple in the eyes' "pupils". This butterfly is nearly 6" across.
