This knife's handle is inlaid with fossilized mammoth tusk ivory in beautiful wintry shades of white and bluish grey, accented with mother of pearl and opal. The back is inlaid with Danish birch.
The blade is made of "Sanmai Damascus" Damascus steel. There is a core of vg-10 steel with 16 layers of stainless steel on each side to produce a rust-free Damascus look blade.
Mammoths were large, elephant-like mammals that lived during the Ice Age. They roamed across North America, Europe, Asia, and Africa, thriving in cold, grassy environments. The most well-known species, the woolly mammoth, had long curved tusks and a thick coat to survive harsh climates. Most mammoths went extinct about 10,000 years ago, though small populations survived until around 4,000 years ago.
